Cockroach Milk Is Three Times As Nutritious As Cow's Milk

Cockroach milk has gained buzz as a superfood due to its nutritional value, in fact lab research has shown that it is three times as effective as cow’s milk, buffalo milk and human breast milk. This can be harvested from the midgut of the killed female cockroaches.

Cockroach milk is milk like protein with all nine essential amino acids, crystalline substance produced by Diploptera punctata species. The presence of all nine essential amino acids makes cockroach milk unique, as non-meat foods tend to lack one or more essential amino acids.

Cockroach milk contains oleic acid, linoleic acid, omega 3 fatty acids, short and medium chain fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and its advantage is that it is lactose free.  Lactose intolerance is a condition that affects 65%of the population. The lactose intolerant person lacks the enzyme lactase which is needed for digestion of lactose present in milk, thus causing diarrhea, bloating, abdominal cramps and nausea as symptoms.

For starters, however it is nutritious but it is also very high in calories, that is about 250 ml contains around 700 calories, that means consuming too much cockroach milk lead to weight gain.

Cockroach milk is poorly researched, so it won’t be commercially available and it is just hype for now.
